Have you experienced feeling a sense of clarity when doing your spring cleaning or general decluttering around your work or living space?
I have experienced this and the opposite as well, feeling confused and sluggish when in the midst of a cluttered environment.
However you may be feeling right now, take a moment to close your eyes, turn your attention within and make a mental note of your current feeling and its intensity. Then look at the space around you. Is everything in its place or is there anything that needs clearing and organizing? If there is a lot of clutter, focus your attention on a small area first and simply organize the items the best that you can. Discard items that you do not need. Take an empty carton and drop the items that you feel you may need in the near future into it. Make sure you make a list of items you drop into the box so that you can easily access it when required.
Once you have organised the small area, close your eyes once more and check how you are feeling now. Is it same as or different from how you felt before the exercise?
I find that decluttering and organizing my space helps me feel calmer, more grounded and it also helps me focus better.
Do try this out and drop in a word about your experience. I would love to hear your story.
Happy Decluttering!
